Summary
This project combines precision laser cutting, clean acrylic craftsmanship, and a soft wash of RGB light to create a modern glowing lamp. Accurate cutting parameters form the basis for every part of this build. With a 100W CO₂ laser cutter set to 30 percent power and 20 mm/s speed, each piece is cleanly shaped from 3mm white acrylic. These settings allow the laser to glide through the sheet like a patient sculptor, leaving smooth edges with no burn marks, ultimately giving the lamp a crisp, uniform finish.
Acrylic Structure Design: The lamp is made of three key sections of acrylic: the top shade, the cylindrical center support, and the base housing. Each section is designed with interlocking teeth that slide together without stress, allowing the whole structure to stand firm even before final tightening. The shade is formed from many slim acrylic strips arranged in a circle, giving a soft ribbed texture that diffuses the light nicely. As the pieces curve into place, the lamp naturally takes on its elegant silhouette.
Lighting Installation: Inside the base, a colorful SMD module is installed. This is the heart of the lamp’s glow. Wiring is simple and neat: red and black wires are fed through pre-cut channels and soldered to the SMD points. Once connected, the LEDs spread light upward like a gentle rising mist. The top shade and bottom base share the same lighting source, ensuring one smooth, continuous brightness across the entire lamp. No dark spots. No harsh edges. Just a full 360-degree glow.
Final Assembly: After wiring, the base closes, the central column is fixed in its place, and the top shade sits securely on its locking ring. When the lamp is turned on, the white acrylic morphs into a glowing lantern, with soft color transitions that almost feel weightless. The ribbed structure of the shade scatters the LEDs in a beautiful pattern, giving this lamp a premium handcrafted look even though every piece was precision-cut. This design is just perfect for workshops, décor projects, and even mood lighting experiments. Its construction is simple enough for a beginner yet polished enough to impress any viewer. Each part fits neatly, the wiring stays hidden, and the final glow brings the entire project to life.
