Summary
We designed and built a complete 3D wooden RC Monster Truck using laser-cut MDF parts, starting with the custom body frame that was modified to fit the electronics and motor assembly. The truck features a DC motor installed at the rear, which allows it to move forward and backward, with the motor shaft connected directly to the wheels for smooth motion. After mounting the motor, we completed the wiring by connecting the power lines, control board, and receiver module, securing all joints with hot glue for durability.
A rechargeable battery pack is fitted inside the truck, along with an ON/OFF switch, a charging port on the backside, and an LED indicator that lights up when the truck is powered. For communication, both the truck and the remote controller use radio frequency antennas to send and receive signals. The remote itself is also handmade from wood and includes a rechargeable battery, charging port, ON/OFF switch, LED indicator, and two wooden buttons for forward and backward control. Inside the remote, a transmitter circuit is connected with clean wiring to ensure stable communication.
The images show the full assembly process, including the motor installation, internal wiring, battery connections, and the final completed RC Monster Truck with its wooden rechargeable remote.
In this project, we have carefully selected MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) as the primary material due to its durability, smooth finish, and excellent compatibility with laser cutting. The main truck structure is crafted using 3.5mm MDF, which provides strong support, stability, and a clean, precise design after cutting.
For the remote control, we also use high-quality MDF, but with a slightly thinner 3mm sheet. This allows for more delicate detailing and a lightweight feel, making the remote comfortable to hold while still maintaining durability.
